SpaceX Dragon Launch
It has the potential of carrying about 7 passengers in flight to and from the earth around the orbit. It is the only spacecraft in human history which can bring in a substantial amount of cargo to Earth. This spacecraft t consists of 16 Draco thrusters used to tailor the spacecraft during a mission, including apogee/perigee manoeuvres, orbit adjustment and attitude control. And till date, it has been successful in 22 launches, 21 visits and 9 reflown missions.
Crew Dragon pilots feature 3 large touch screen panels ahead and a few excess buttons beneath them. Some numerable times when the pilots have to manually control the spaceship, they do so in a video controlled style. The most interesting thing in the spacecraft’s touch screen feature is that the way we use our normal applications like Instagram, Snapchat, etc., the display of the spaceship has the same for the pilots to nudge around. And it has been finalized that it would be the first-ever private spacecraft to occupy humans to the space station.
The historic flight that took place in the bright afternoon of 30th May 2020 happens to be a massive achievement and the last milepost SpaceX as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. The SpaceX and The NASA had partnered up to develop and test the unequal space systems for the travel of astronauts for the agency to and from the ISS (International Space Station) which orbits 248 miles above Earth.
It is just a test and if it succeeds it will result in more missions in the upcoming months in 2020.
In 2018 Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley were selected as the top astronauts to travel to space in the Crew Dragon. And after 2 years of training for the NASA and SpaceX collaboration, they were ready to cash the SpaceX’s custom-designed spacesuits and occupy their seats inside the capsule. The following mission has been named as Demo-2.
